Teresa ‘Osa’ Hidalgo de la Riva
Director and filmmaker Teresa “Osa” Hidalgo de la Riva received her PhD in 2003 from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema/Television-Division of Critical Studies, writing a dissertation focused on the representation of Chicanas in film and video. During her tenure as dissertation fellow, she taught her own seminar, Mujerista Filmmaking. She was also a recipient of the Bill Gates Fellowship. Hidalgo de la Riva’s work includes MARGINAL, EYES, MUJERIA, FANTASIA #1, and TWO SPIRITS: NATIVE LESBIANS AND GAYS. (07/09)
