Daniel Meyers
Daniel Meyers is an acclaimed cinematographer, producer and editor. The California native earned an Academy Award nomination for his 1993 short documentary, When Abortion Was Illegal, and a 1997 Northern California Emmy for his feature-length documentary, From Danger to Dignity. Meyers has traveled extensively throughout Mexico, Cuba, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East and speaks English, French and Spanish. Having attended various universities, Meyers earned degrees in both anthropology and urban studies. He worked as a builder and remodeler in the San Francisco Bay Area for ten years before turning to television and educational film in 1987. Meyers’ work in the U.S. has been primarily for local and national PBS, though he has also worked for NBC, Fox Television, Nickelodeon, Turner Network Television and the Travel Channel. In 1995 Meyers moved to Europe where he has been working on documentaries and magazine shows for France 2, France 3, La Cinquième, Arte (France), RTL and ZDF (Germany), Channel 9, ABC Australia, BBC World Service, BBC-2, and Britain’s Channel 4 as well as various other European outlets.
