Louise Carré

French-Canadian filmmaker Louise Carré began her career as a radio host before going on to direct Les Feux Follets, a folk dance company. From 1973 to 1977, she was a producer at the Office National du Film du Canada. She later became a current events writer for Anne Claire Poirier. With the help of André Théberge and Denyse Benoit, Carré founded La Maison des Quatre, a movie production company, and directed her first fiction film in 1980. (07/09)
