Lawan Jirasuradej

Lawan Jirasuradej spent more than four years finishing her first documentary with very little cash support. For the last two years she traveled with 40 hours of tapes and boxes of editing gear from one artist residency to another across the United States to edit the film. Her hard work and persistence have won her admiration and support from friends, peers and donors, as well as the main crew who devoted their time and crafts voluntarily.

Her film credits include an award winning film - La Vida: The Strength Within, another celebration of women's life, Here, There, Somewhere and Painted Earth. Jirasuradej grew up in Krungthep (aka Bangkok), Thailand. She earned her BA (Broadcasting) from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand and MA (Film) from San Francisco State University, U.S.A. on a Fulbright Scholarship. Her experience in television reporting and educational video production sparked her interest in documentary film.
