Katie Mustard

Established producer and filmmaker Katie Mustard graduated with honors from USC Film School and has since worked at such companies as: Twentieth Century Fox, Sony Studios, MTV and The Directors Bureau. After working closely with music video director Roman Coppola, Mustard pursued production work in various fields including commercials, shorts, documentaries and feature films. In addition, Katie has produced, shot, and edited over two dozen documentaries during her travel throughout the world. Katie Mustard has produced, shot, and edited over two dozen documentaries which reflect her experiences and encounters during her extensive world travel. Mustard’s first short, Swallow, premiered at Sundance in 2003 and was distributed by HBO. Her most recent short, Eve, premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2008, was directed by Natalie Portman, and starred Lauren Bacall, Ben Gazzara, and Olivia Thirlby. Another of Mustard’s short films, In the Morning, was a winner at film festivals across the globe, including Sundance and Tribeca and was screened before the United States Congress on Human Rights. Mustard’s film adaptation of the award-winning novel Dream Boy was shot on location in Louisiana and premiered in Berlin in 2008. Her film Mafia Madness was the official winner of the Coca Cola Filmmaker’s Contest and in late 2007, Mustard wrapped principal photography on the feature film The Missing Person, starring Michael Shannon & Amy Ryan. The Missing Person premiered at Sundance 2009
As a feature producer, Mustard has contributed to such films as: One Part Sugar, starring Danny Devito, Justin Long and Jonah Hill; Special, which premiered at Sundance in 2006; Rolling, winner of the 2007 San Francisco International Film Festival Audience Award and Graduation, starring Adam Arkin and Chris Lowell. American Shopper, the first documentary feature to Mustard’s production credit, premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2007. Most recently, Katie Mustard completed production on the indie drama The Greatest, starring Pierce Brosnan and Susan Sarandon, which premiered at Sundance 2009, and Made in China, winner of Best Feature at SXSW 2009.
