DESIRE RECEIVES AL GORE'S "REEL CURRENT AWARD"

Following sold-out screenings at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, groundbreaking doc DESIRE received the prestigious 2006 Reel Current Award, given to a documentary that provides extraordinary insight into a contemporary global issue. Former Vice President Al Gore awarded veteran filmmaker Julie Gustafson the honor at the recent Nashville Film Festival. DESIRE, shot in pre-Hurricane-Katrina New Orleans, offers an insightful perspective on complex issues of race, class, education and sexuality through refreshingly honest portraits of five young women.

SISTERS IN LAW OPENS NATIONALLY STARTING APRIL 28

The top grossing doc in indieWIRE's Box Office Tracking Report (iWBOT) for its opening weekend, SISTERS IN LAW earned rave reviews during its New York run at the Film Forum. "POSITIVELY SOARS” said the New York Times, while Salon.com dubbed it the “breakout feel good doc of the year.” (More reviews)
