DESIRE RECEIVES AL GORE'S "REEL CURRENT AWARD"
Following sold-out screenings at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival,
groundbreaking doc
DESIRE received the prestigious 2006 Reel Current Award, given to a documentary that provides extraordinary insight into a contemporary global
issue. Former Vice President Al Gore awarded veteran filmmaker Julie Gustafson
the honor at the recent
Nashville Film Festival.
DESIRE, shot in pre-Hurricane-Katrina New Orleans, offers an insightful perspective on
complex issues of race, class, education and sexuality through refreshingly honest portraits of five young women.
