WASHINGTON D.C. AND NEW YORK PREMIERES OF SUNDANCE-AWARD WINNING FILM, ENEMIES OF HAPPINESS

WMM is pleased to announce that ENEMIES OF HAPPINESS has its DC premiere at Silverdocs on Thurs., June 14, 7:30 p.m. and Fri., June 15, 3:15 pm. Friday's screening will be followed by a panel Q&A including filmmaker Eva Mulvad. Tickets and more info

From Silverdocs, the film travels to New York City, where it screens at the Human Rights Watch International Film Festival, presented in association with the Tribeca Film Festival, on Sat., June 16, 3:30; Sun., June 17, 6:15 and Mon., June 18, 4 pm. Eva Mulvad will be in attendance at these screenings also. More info


WMM AT SILVERDOCS

WMM will be in full force at Silverdocs this year! In addition to ENEMIES OF HAPPINESS, films from our Production Assistance Program will screen at this prestigious festival.

Screenings include the World Premiere of Made in L.A. by Almudena Carraceda, A Walk to Beautiful by Mary Olive Smith, Freeheld by Cynthia Wade, and A Walk into the Sea: Danny Williams and the Warhol Factory by Esther Robinson. Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg, two filmmakers who have come out of the PA Program, will also screen their film, The Devil Came on Horseback.

We will also present a two-part Fundraising Workshop on Saturday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a reception co-hosted by Women in Film/DC.

SUNDANCE AT BAM: ELLEN KURAS SCREENS HER HIGHLY ANTICIPATED

From Sundance to Brooklyn! Celebrated filmmaker Ellen Kuras's eagerly awaited work-in-progress, Nerakhoun: The Centre Will Not Hold, from the WMM Production Assistance Program, will screen on June 9. Sundance Institute at BAM offers films straight from the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, sneak peeks of new work being developed with Sundance Institute support and programs that take you inside the creative process.

The Reel New York Film Festival kicks off the summer with independent films by New Yorkers about New York, including Academy-Award Nominee FERRY TALES. The film screens at the Gotham Center, 365 Fifth Ave., June 14, 6:30 p.m.

GEORGIE GIRL by Annie Goldson and Peter Wells screens at the Brooklyn Museum June 17 at 2 p.m. as part of the P.O.V. 20th Anniversary Documentary Film Series: Women Making Change Locally and Globally.
