Does WMM offer digital licensing?
YES WE DO! Women Make Movies offers STREAMING LICENSES FOR LIFE OF THE FILE FORMAT after the purchase of a film(s) at full list price from the licensing institution. Price of the digital license is based on the list price. Please inquire with name of film(s) to orders@wmm.com or 212.925.0606 ext. 360. We’ll get back to you with pricing and options. Please note we have special tier pricing for multiple title orders.

Do you accept Purchase Orders?
Yes! Feel free to fax an authorized purchase order to 212 925 2052, and we will gladly bill you with the shipment. Payment can also be mailed to us at: 115 W. 29th Street, Suite 1200, New York, NY, 10001.

Why are your prices so high?
As an educational distributor, we primarily sell our films to universities, institutions and organizations for educational use. The prices listed in our catalog are for institutional use. Unlike home videos which include only the license to watch a film in your home, the institutional price listed in our catalog comes with the license to screen films for non-paying audiences on campus or school grounds.

Are the rental fees listed in your catalog for public screenings as well?
No. Rental fees for public screenings are always negotiated based on the number of screenings per film, seating capacity, and admission. Please send this info to orders@wmm.com and someone will get back to you with a rental quote.

Can you track my package?
Orders are shipped to arrive 2-3 weeks from the time you place your order. If you have paid for rush shipping, you should receive your order within 5 business days. If you do not receive your order within these time frames, we would be happy to send you tracking info. Call 1-800-343-5540, Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm EST. (Please note that all home video orders are sent via US mail.)

I am a tax-exempt organization/school. Do you charge taxes?
No. As a non-profit organization ourselves, we are also tax-exempt and only charge taxes on home video purchases within NY State.

I need a completed W-9 form on file before I can place my order.

Purchases can be made through our online shopping cart or by phone, mail, fax or email. Don’t forget to check our Special Offers and Special Collections pages for discounts! For now, Special Offer/Collection orders, rentals and paid previews must be ordered by phone, mail, fax or email.

Sales may be done online at www.wmm.com with a credit card (American Express, Visa or MasterCard) through our secure shopping cart. Please visit our film catalog to make your selections.

Institutional Sales: Continental US

Institutions are required to purchase at list price. Purchase effectively means lease for the life of the videotape, DVD or film print. Prices include public performance rights for classroom, organizational, or library use by the acquiring institution for non-paying audiences only. See License Agreement for full terms. Any screenings that are open to the public or where admission is charged may result in additional rental fees. Please see instructions for public screenings. Sales are shipped to arrive within 2 to 3 weeks. For items needed sooner, a $25 rush charge will apply. Please specify date needed.

Archival Copies: Additional copies of the same title may be purchased for 50% of the list price if purchased at the same time.

PAL and Film Formats: PAL VHS, 16mm and 35mm prints are available for sale on some titles. Sorry, no PAL DVD. Please note that special orders will take 4-8 weeks to fulfill and may result in additional charges. Please call (212) 925-0606 ext. 360 for more information.

Institutional Rentals: Continental US

Rental orders must be placed at least 3 weeks before the show date or rush charges will apply. We will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs; however, please provide an alternate show date at least two weeks later. Previews are not available for rental consideration, but Women Make Movies Staff can offer programming assistance. Call (212) 925-0606 ext. 360 or email orders@wmm.com.

VHS or DVD Rentals:
Prices are for a three-day period within a classroom or organization for non-paying audiences only. Rental fees can be applied to the purchase price if purchase is made within 90 days of rental show date.

16mm, 35mm and BetaSP Rentals:
Prices are for one screening only. Additional film screenings on the same day are priced at 50% of the listed rental price. Screenings on additional days are billed at the full rental price.

Paid Admissions/Fundraisers:
If you wish to charge admission for your screening of a WMM title you must contact our booker at (212) 925-0606 ext. 317 to make special arrangements. For further information, please read the Public Exhibitions section.

Rental Cancellations:
All rental cancellations made prior to ship date are subject to a fee of $10.00 per title. If a cancellation is received after the ship date, customer is responsible for the full rental fee.

Orders are shipped to arrive 2 to 3 weeks from the time the order is received. For orders needed sooner, a rush charge of $25 per order will apply. See below for details. The following fees cover standard shipping & handling within the continental United States:

Rush Orders
A rush fee of $25 per order will apply to sales needed within 2 weeks from the receipt of order, and rentals with show dates less than 3 weeks from the receipt of order. Please include a "need by" date with all rush orders. Sorry, we are unable to accommodate orders that must ship the same day on which they are ordered. Please note that some older titles are not available on a rush basis. If the title you request is not available, you will receive an email within 24 hours.

Return Shipping for Rentals
Rented videotapes and DVDs must be returned the first business day after the 3-day rental period. Film prints must be returned the next business day after screening via UPS 2nd Day Air or FedEx Standard. A late return fee equal to 50% of the rental fee will be charged per day.

Renters are responsible for return shipping costs and are liable for any damage to prints, videotapes or DVDs. Shipped items should be insured according to the values listed below. NOTE: Please do not return tapes in fiber-filled packages. The packages tend to rip open with the exposed fiber damaging the enclosed tapes.

Institutional Sales: International

Standard Shipping
International orders must be pre-paid and placed by fax, mail or phone with our International Order Form. Once we receive the order we will check rights and availability, then generate an invoice from which to prepay. Orders will be shipped once payment is received. We will let you know within 5 business days of if the titles you requested are not available. If we do not get back to you, you may assume that your order is being filled. Most of our titles are available for sale to institutions outside the U.S. Be sure to specify if PAL VHS is needed. Sorry no PAL DVD. For Festival Screenings and other Public Exhibitions outside of North America, please inquire.

• There is a $300 minimum for international orders.
• Special orders take approximately 4 weeks to ship.
• Sorry we are unable to offer previews, educational rentals or discounted sales to overseas customers at this time.

International Payment
All international orders must be prepaid in U.S. dollars. You can prepay by using a credit card (Visa, American Express, or MasterCard), by international money order or with a check drawn in U.S. funds, or by wire/bank transfer.

International Wires
All wires must be in U.S. dollars. All wires are subject to a $30 wire fee. If you intend to wire payment, please email orders@wmm.com and we will send you wiring instructions.

Customers outside North America have three shipping options as outlined below. A rush fee of $25 will apply to orders needed less than 4 weeks from receipt of order.

Standard Service via U.S. Post (approximately 2-4 weeks delivery)

• All Others: $35 first tape/DVD, each additional tape/DVD add $5

• Europe: $55 first tape/DVD, each additional tape/DVD add $5
• Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America, Middle East and New Zealand: $65 first tape/DVD, each additional tape/DVD add $5

Previews

Film Reviewers and Other Journalists
Previews for film critics, academic reviewers and other journalists who intend to review or otherwise write about a title are generally available at no charge. Please contact our Orders Department at (212) 925-0606 ext. 360 or email orders@wmm.com

Home Video Versions

Home video versions are available for select Women Make Movies titles and may be purchased by individuals in the U.S. for personal home viewing with family and friends only. Current year releases are generally available in home video a year after their initial release to institutions. Home video versions are for personal home use only, and programs are protected by copyright. It is strictly prohibited to screen, loan or broadcast for any group for either educational or commercial purposes.

All home video orders must be paid by credit card or money order in advance of shipment. Order through our online shopping cart with a credit card (please make sure to select Home Video under shipping options or you will be charged the institutional rate for shipping) or call 1-800-343-5540, Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm EST. Customers who wish to mail their orders should download our Order Form and fax or mail to Women Make Movies. Price is $19.95 for individual titles and $59 for compilations. Shipping and handling is $7 per title. Please note: Cash, COD, and personal checks are not accepted. In NY City and State, please add 8.625% sales tax.
