Mary J. Blige’s Original Song “See What You’ve Done,” Written for New WMM Release BELLY OF THE BEAST Just Released by Def Jam Recordings

Written by Isabelle Titcomb

As just announced by Rolling Stone, nine-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Mary J. Blige’s original song “See What You’ve Done,” written for new WMM release BELLY OF THE BEAST, was released today as a single by Def Jam Recordings. Hear the song that VARIETY recently predicted will be a strong contender for Best Original Song at the Oscars and will be nominated for a Grammy on major music streaming platforms iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify.

“I was moved by Erika Cohn’s important documentary,” said Blige, “I immediately knew I wanted to be involved and was inspired to write a song that would amplify the voices of women in prison.” Named Critic’s Pick by The New York Times and predicted by VARIETY to be an Oscar-contender, BELLY OF THE BEAST is this year’s must-see documentary on forced sterilization of women in the California prison system.
