Stacy Sherman
Director Stacy Sherman holds a bachelor’s degree from UCLA in International Relations and a master’s degree from USC in Journalism. She has written screenplays for 20th Century Fox, Tri-Star Pictures, Imagine Entertainment and Warner Bros. Sherman is also the co-writer, co-producer, and co-director of WAITRESS, a documentary short about Kaye Coleman, a Los Angeles waitress who touched hundreds of lives with her humanity and spirit. Most recently, Sherman co-directed GOD SLEEPS IN RWANDA with Kimberlee Acquaro. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary, Short Subject, won an Emmy Award for Best Documentary, and was recognized at various international and domestic film festivals including Silverdocs, IDA’s Docuweek, Aspen Shortfest, and Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films among others. Sherman lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children. (10/09)
