Congratulations to Olivia Newman, former WMM intern and staff member, on her Primetime Emmy win! Olivia directed REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES, the 2026 Netflix drama starring veteran actress Sally Field, which won the Emmy for Outstanding Movie at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards. Field made history as well, becoming the oldest actress ever to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
Adapted from Shelby Van Pelt’s bestselling novel, REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES follows a widow who, while working nights at a small-town aquarium, bonds with a clever octopus and an adrift young man. The film earned three Emmy nominations in total.
