SXSW is back and this year four films from WMM Filmmakers will premiere, including two made with the support of our Production Assistance Program:
#WHILEBLACK (World Premiere in Documentary Feature Competition): Witnesses who filmed the deaths of George Floyd, Philando Castile, and others, step forward in this ground-breaking documentary about the police brutality videos igniting global movements.

DAUGHTERS OF THE FOREST: MYCELIUM CHRONICLES (North American Premiere): Deep in Mexico’s forests, this immersive sci-fi documentary follows two Indigenous women who become mycologists, tracing their fungi-guided journeys to reconcile past and present while reimagining their future in a changing world.

Additionally, two new films from Program Alum will have their world premieres =: MY NDA (dir. by alums Juliane Dressner and Miriam Shor); ; and THE DADS (dir. and prod. by alum Luchina Fisher and prod. by alum Stephen Chukumba)
SXSW 2026 will take place March 12-18 in Austin, TX and mark its 40th anniversary.
