Two out of the Five Projects Selected for 2022 PitchBLACK Forum from WMM Filmmakers

Black Public Media’s 2022 PitchBLACK Forum and Awards takes place April 26 – 28 and will be opened by a keynote address from WMM Program alum Dawn Porter (dir. TRAPPED, JOHN LEWIS: GOOD TROUBLE). This year, we are thrilled to see that two out of the five projects selected for the PitchBLACK Forum are from WMM Filmmakers!

Good luck to the teams behind WEDNESDAYS IN MISSISSIPPI (dir. Marlene McCurtis & Joy Silverman) and TRAVEL NOTES OF A GEECHEE GIRL (dir. Julie Dash & Rachel Wantanabe-Batton), both of which are supported by our Production Assistance Program and who will be competing for $150k in funding. The winners will be announced at the PitchBLACK Awards ceremony on April 28, which is open to the public.

The 2022 PitchBLACK Forum is online and free to attend!
