This award is given to outstanding independent Canadian producers with a film in the festival in recognition of their creative vision, entrepreneurship, and track record for supporting emerging talent. In that same vein, the recipient of this award receives a $5,000 cash prize they can pass onto an emerging female documentary filmmaker.
