Nancy Evans, a medical writer and editor, is a board member and past president of Breast Cancer Action, a grassroots advocacy organization based in San Francisco. She served as a co-chair on the Secretary's Conference on Breast Cancer, convened by Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala, to develop a National Action Plan on Breast Cancer, and as co-chair of the Working Group on Breast Cancer Etiology, part of hate task force to implement the National Action Plan. She has testified at Congressional hearings, at the Food and Drug Administration, and the Environmental Protection Agency, and the World Conference on Breast Cancer. Her articles in the highly respected "Breast Cancer Action Newsletter" are valued by activists across the nation. She is known as a leader in coalition building between breast cancer organizations and environmental groups. As a woman living with breast cancer and as a breast cancer activist, Evans is also a co-producer of RACHEL'S DAUGHTERS. (09/09)
