Ana Luiza Azevedo
Born in Brazil, Azevedo graduated with a bachelor degree in Fine Arts at UFRGS in 1986. She is now a member of the House of Cinema Port Alegre. She was an assistant director of several feature-length films, with directors such as Jorge Furtado, Gerbase Carlos and Carlos Reichenbach . As writer and director, she directed short films and television specials, has been awarded in many national and international festivals. Her film THREE MINUTES is the only Brazilian representative in the competitive show short of the Cannes Film Festival 2000.
In late 2007, she directed her first feature film, BEFORE THE WORLD AHAB based on the book by Marcelo Carneiro da Cunha, which was presented and awarded at many festivals, even before its commercial release in May 2010. Between 2008 and 2009 Ana Luiza directed eight episodes of the series Fantasies of a Housewife for RBS TV.
In 2013, Azevedo began working on the pre - production phase of a woman comic series based on the novel by Claudia Tajes. (8/14)
