Cecilia Cornejo

Cecilia Cornejo was born and raised in Chile and came to the U.S.A. in 1994. She became interested in videomaking while attending The University of Iowa where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies.

Her work lies at the intersection where the public and the private worlds meet. It is strongly anchored in the intimate connection that exists between the political and the personal. Through the use of written and visual poetry combined with documentary techniques, Cornejo create works of non-fiction that bring a personal dimension to the documentary tradition.

She recently finished her M.F.A. in film and video at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I Wonder What You Will Remember of September is her thesis film. (03/05)
