A raw, cinematic, experimental dance film, that features New York’s avant guard arts scene, and encapsulates the life a New York artist through a mash up of original choreography, music, verite documentary, and magical realism.
SYNOPSIS
A rogue ballerina, Rose Alice, haunts the shadows of New York City, chasing forgotten rhythms and unsung talent through subway tunnels, warehouse raves, and crumbling theaters. Gathering a tribe of underdog artists, she dares to choreograph a masterpiece born of grit, grace, and rebellion that could shatter tradition and set the city ablaze with something entirely new.
Director Statement
At a moment when escalating cuts to the arts community make the artist visibility especially urgent, Rose's ability to continue to make art offers a timely story of resilience, progress, and hope that must be captured now to support keeping the arts in America alive. As an independent filmmaker and artist of 25 years in NYC, there is no subject closer to my heart.
