Women Make Movies is excited to partner with One Woman One Vote to bring you the 2020 One Woman One Vote Film Festival in celebration of the centennial of the 19th amendment of women’s suffrage. Join us in watching this inspiring collection of films about women leaders and politicians. We also encourage nonprofits, community groups, activists, and individual teachers to use these films to celebrate and educate about the diversity of women in politics and leadership. We have made it easy for you to create your own online film screening to inspire and empower women everywhere to use their power for change. These films will be available through the 2020 election.
As we celebrate the anniversary of this historic event, we acknowledge that while white women were granted the right to vote in 1920, Black and Brown women were not able to exercise their right to vote until forty-five years later, when the Voting Rights Act passed. The selected films represent women from a diversity backgrounds who have paved the way for change.
